Baskin Robbins Now Has 32 Flavours

So this is the kind of story you can only share with the rest of the world via the internet...

I took my girlfriend to BaskinRobbins for some ice cream last night and there I was looking at what ice cream i wanted when i got the sudden urge to fart. Not wanting the counter staff or my girlfriend to suspect my indescretion i went over to the far counter and farted.

This is where everything got a bit skewed on me.

I felt something hot and wet running down my leg. It seems I had a bit of a tummy bug and only my ass knew about it. I had just diarehea (sp?) shat myself in the middle of BaskinRobbins, in front of the counter staff and my girlfriend.

Thankfully my girlfriend has a cold and a blocked nose... so she didn't smell and therefore suspect anything had happened. I kept her standing in front of me so she couldn't see my wet ass.

So anyway, I ordered my icecream, paid the counter girl and proceeded out the door. I gave my keys and icecream to my g/f, told her i needed to go to burger king next door, where I went to the restroom and spent 5 minutes shovelling muck out of my boxers.

Wrote-off My Car

What a fucking day.
Posted those boat pics, went out in my girfriends car to grab a last minute present for my brother.

Its really hard to explain what happened, but basically I got hit from the back left all down the side and then impacted again into the front left, pushing me into a ute, which hit a land cruiser (of which the driver was a complete asshole). Everyone was cool except that guy. Both me and the tow truck driver were going to smack him one in the head.

I was turning across stopped traffic. I looked before I turned, but didn't see the silver car that hit me until it was past me. I'm not saying there's any real person to blame. I'm just glad that for the 4 car accident, no-one got hurt.

Her car is a write-off, both axles are snapped off the wheels at the cv joints. Car is insured for $14,000 (aus). So glad she put me on the insurance.

Its 11pm Xmas Eve, I'm going to go drown my sorrows in beer and skittles.

New Boat

My parents sold their 2nd house and went shopping.
My dad went out and bought a new boat.

Microsoft Stuff

So I went to the Microsoft Technet conference all day yesterday, and the developers conference after it.

Win XP Service Pack 2 is coming in a few months and they have put in a lot of stuff. (RC 1 is availiable for DL now, but wait for the public release unless your a developer)

So, before the rundown on some features, let me just say that I'm no Linux vs Windows person or anything, I use and administer all sorts of platforms on a regular basis so I'm impartial. (theres still sarcasm below though)

Anyway after nachi, mydoom, blaster, etc worms came out and fucked MS up, they decided to go psycho with security.
They have done major work on the firewall, it defaults to "on" now and you need to tell the firewall to poke a hole for any applications that use a port connection. (yes, even your browser will need to tell the firewall it wants the internet port open the first time), In fact there is a new security centre which controls the firewall and your existing 3rd party antivirus goes here too. So when NAV pops up with "your shit needs updating". Windows will remind you too! CONSISTENTLY! (IMG:http://www.nopistons.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

There are something like 849 new group policies (admins will understand this benefit) for more granularity.

There is a POP-UP BLOCKER for IE! So all you people using IE ( (IMG:http://www.nopistons.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/post-1-1047683561.gif) ) can now block pop-ups and automatic downloads.

The coolest thing IMO is the updates functionality. Now it adds a new shutdown option to the pc, so after you have downloaded updates it will install them for you and shutdown the pc when its down. Before, you would have to install the updates, then restart, then shutdown. Big time waster. MS is on the right track with this one though! There heaps of other stuff, but thats the stuff I remembered off the top of my head, I'm sure most of you use XP at least at work, so this will apply to you.
