Ok the blog got wiped and it pissed me off so I hadn't written any of my gold analysis, etc...
We made my prediction of $1200 last year, (my prediction was in 9/2008) which was exactly what I predicted. I wanted to make this years prediction before the end of January so that everyone can take a moment JUST LIKE YOU ALL DID LAST YEAR, to tell me I'm insane, it will never happen, etc, etc... (you're starting to get a feeling for where this is going right?) So where are we headed this year?
Gold has taken a bit of a beating, or rather consolidation since the first of the year. Whenever the shorts show up to beat it down, big players have arrived (china?) to prop it up. The dollar is nearing a top there are MASSIVE shorts, I would expect the top to be somewhere around 81 MAX. Then we'll move right down to the 74 and test that low, but really the dollar has been unpredictable and I'm not sure it's important to the future of gold this year (of course it is who am I fooling.) Gold adjusted for inflation, compared to the 1980 high should be about $1800..... be patient I'm getting there. I'm going to save my short term analysis for my more frequent updates, this should be the post to serve as my annual rambling. Where was I?
As the US takes on record debt and begs buyers to show up and buy that short term debt.... not to mention the debt they need to roll over in record numbers there's no doubt this year will be an exciting one for us gold bugs.
Gold with test the 950 to 1000 range soon, but let's keep in mind the shiny metal is in the middle of a historical bull run whilst the US dollar is preparing for meltdown, is it any surprise that this year will again be a record year for the yellow stuff? Last year we saw a 25% increase and we're going to see it again this year. I'm really leaning toward going outrageous and gambling, but it's a tough call.
By December 31, 2010 gold will see price of $1625 :D :D Expect lots of excitement between now and then.
