Hey does anyone know if a EGT sensor has a optimal position? As in relation to a clock from 1-12 o'clock position relative to up and down for any reason?
Also need to find a good distance from the engine manifold interface? I have no real way of determining the temperature's inside the manifold for correct sensor placement until the sensor is mounted any good advise someone can pass along for correct sensor placement for a 13brew in a tubular manifold running a gt35R? |

the angle wont affect the sensor at all, aslong as it gets hot and the exhaust gas flows past it.

I understand this, but what I am looking for is if there is any disadvantages to placement such as a 6 oclock position and small amounts of oil pooling in the sensor bung ect.
I have a few good threads I bookmarked but I cant use many of them at the moment, and the ones I have for here still seem to link to extraneous threads from the forum crash/hack Any info for distance? I assume equidistant is preferable but this is not always possible, what about temperature away from the mating surfaces? I seem to remember there was a disparity between certain members as to what temperature was exiting the engine and if the 1700 Fahrenheit threshold was being exceeded at near placements to the interface? Anyone have any info or remember from reading? |

LIke you said, putting in the bottom might contaminate the sensor over time if oil starts to cook it but I don't think is a sensitive as the 02 is. I would put it at between 10 and 2 if possible but thats' my opinion.

i know for heated wideband sensors, innovate recommends that you install it between 10 and 2 to avoid condensation pooling and collecting around the sensor. narrowbands are a bit more resilient, but i dont remember seeing any that werent between 10 and 2 anyway
