83 rx7 12a to 13b swap
I've got an 83 1st Gen rx7 that has a 79 12a in it at the moment that will be swapped into the car. I need to find out all of what's needed to install the engine.
So far I know oil pan from a gsl-se, the s4 ecu, and a 12a cover (not really understanding what that's needed for) what else is needed? Also is there a detailed guide to do this sort of swap by chance?
Thanks guys

Re: 83 rx7 12a to 13b swap
I'm looking to do the same on my 85. Ironically mine also has a 79 12a currently in it. I have discoverd a TON of dead links. I'm looking to do this more for long term than power. 12a housings are no longer made. I think racing beat makes a front crossmember to fit it but its pricy.
Anyone out here have more info or good links?

Re: 83 rx7 12a to 13b swap
If you use a 1985 or earlier 13B the swap is quite easy. I am running a modified 75 RX4 block that has been updated fairly well ; it is a carbed 4 port motor. The 12A or 13B front cover is needed to retain the front motor mount (just have to slot the mount holes 1/2"), the SE oil pan is required and the trans , starter , distributor etc will all work.Of course you will have to get a 13B header and intake....
