What to look for when buying a FC?
Hi rotary gang,
I'm new to the FC. I know alot about the RX-8 but am looking into buying a FC. What are the major things to look for in a FC that you wouldn't look for in a RX-8 or any rotary for that matter when going to buy? And what are the price range for a decent kept and running FC? I know people are gonna say they need more info to give a price but just a ballpark estimate on what FCs are worth and what you would feel comfortable paying in a stock FC. If there are major factors in price what are those factors?
Thanks

Check the coolant and make sure it's green, check for rust under the car, bring a jack with you, so you can look under the car thoroughly. If it's a vert with a ripped top, again really check for rust holes. Check to see if the horn and windscreen wipers work properly, the wiper switch goes bad quite often. On turbo cars check the turbo for shaft play. These prices are just ballpark, they will vary in price. Condition is everything.
86-88 na in good condition go between $1800-3000
87-88 t2 good condition $3000-5000
89-92 na $3000-4000
89-91 t2 $4000-5500

Don't forget that location can also greatly affect prices as well. They'll be cheaper in winter climates, and more expensive in more temperate climates. The list you posted is a decent guide though. I'd highly recommend looking for one when the weather is as cold and as crappy as possible, as people aren't really shopping for sports cars in the winter.
