Hey guys,

This is my first post on this board and basicly I am just looking for some opinions on what to do with my situation reguarding my SE..

I have an 85 SE which is currently sitting at a reputible rotary specialist and has been sitting there for the past 4 years or so..Financial problems have caused me to put this car on the back burner for quite a while, but I am almost caught up with bill for the parts and labor (within a few hundred). I just got a new job that will allow me to to get this car back on the road within a month or two..

MY problem is that I found out that after all this time the J-spec engine AND turbo that I bought for this car is bad.. The turbo smokes and the engine has a bad water seal, and I have never been able to drive this car yet..A few months back I bought an S5 turbo and manifold so hopefully I have that covered, but now I have to buy ANOTHER engine..I cant afford a new engine, and I can't afford to rebuild this one and streetport, ect. which would be the only way to rebuild for me..So now I have the orig. 6 port motor with blown oil seals, and an 88T2 JDM motor in the car with blown water seals and bad turbo. And if you think this could not get any worse, all of the 2 RX7's and 5 motors I have tried to replace ALL had blown coolant/oil seals so my luck has been very bad, but I am not going to give up after coming this far..

One of my alternatives would be to buy an engine from the shop where my car is for about 1000-1500 which is a mazda reman from 01 with less then 400 miles on it and walk away with some sort of warranty, and slap my new s5 turbo on it and hopefully call it a day..

Another would be just to buy an engine from a retailer, but I have been away from the rotary scene for awhile and really don't know where to go, mabye you guys can help??

I only want to spend about 1000 on a new-er engine, stock t2 S5 even better and I need some type of assurance that I am not buying a junk engine again..

It could very well be that I left the engine sit too long causing the seals to go, but I just want to be sure this time and finish it once and for all..

MY car is a very nice example of an SE with no rust, little oxidation, and some dents but it is a solid car with only 130k..I have a Haltech E6K which I STILL plan on using, new stock T2 clutch, RP light FW, Bosh pump, SE secondarys, greddy BOV, Custom FMic with 2.5 piping, ect.

I will be happy for the time being running 10 psi on this motor, I have no plans for high boost or big turbo on the stock motor and I feel confident in my tuning and I will never be all that agressive with the tuning..I will be just happy as long as I can finally drive the thing..

If anyone has and input or tips as to help me complete this thing or scource a good motor for a good price please feel free to chime in, your help is appriciated..Thanks for the space

I'll try to insert a pic of the car if I can..Let me know what you guys think
