Best of luck man! How hard did it get hit? And how are you going to get the body lined back up?

it got hit on the right rear, hard enough to ruin the axle on that side and bent the housing a little. im glad i wasnt there to see it. that would have been painful to watch.

the car is not salvageable, you would need to cut the rear and weld a new one in, far too much for what the car is worth im afraid. so, this is chop shop 101. im selling scrap metal to help with bills anyway. i picked the car up for $400 and i've taken about $2000 in parts out and i should make $200 on scrap so, whatever to keep bills paid, until i can find a job.

i havent posted progress in a while, because there was none. my new job and community service has been taking all my time. anyways i tore apart the parts car engine and well the guy said it ran, but im a bit skeptical on that one. the engine is done. its has chatter and scorch marks something fierce on both rotor housings, so if it did run, it couldnt have been well. so theres not much i can use engine wise. i took pics, but they dont really show the damage. my carb is starting to go and my pulleys are done. ive gone through two belts so far. next week im ordering a set of aluminum dual belt pulleys just in case.

Check to make sure the alternator is down tight. If the mounting bolts aren't tight enough it'll be out of alignment and throw belts. Same for a worn out harmonic balancer. If it wobbles while running, it'll eat belts and need replaced. I'm now unemployed so all my tools are home now, but I don't have a garage lol

sorry for delay of posts but my pc died and just got a new/used one. but on to what i have done to the ride since then.

i put new wheel bearings in the rear, but still need to install fronts. i got some polyurethane motor mounts from banzai-racing and a mazdacomp factory race trans mount. i installed all new feul lines. i got a new pump and regulator, but still need to install. my second motor is now ported, but still needs seals. i took the carb off the racecar and slapped that beast on, pic below, and am now premixing oil with my gas 1:2 ratio for now. i would also like to install an electric a/c compressor, so any ideas on how to or what to get would be appreciated. i know denso has a very light and compact one, but not sure if it will work on this system.

i have a few reliability issues im going to address before i move back to my suspension upgrades.

so i was bored yesterday and started going crazy. cut some weight from my spare front end housing, pic below. this is just one of the things i will be doing to lighten an already light car. the front lower control arms and cross members will be getting a full weld insted of the spot weld and holes will be put in them both. i will be grinding down part of the lip on the front lower control arms as well to make accessing some bolts easier.

personally i think this just looks bad ***. tell me what you think.

im ordering some camber adjust plates from ground control in the next couple of days. i aligned my car and the camber is out. i will also be putting 3 degrees on the caster, caster is faster. when i install the plates i will post pics but heres the page.

i will also be installing coil overs, some unused shocks for the rx3 race car.
